"My friend and I have a keen interest in the paranormal, both of us are pagans on eclectic paths. I have strong British lineage, she First Nation American and Celtic.
Whilst visiting my friend I awoke one night because I could feel someone was watching me. I looked round the area in front of me. I could see a figure starting to form, at the same time it seemed to be doing some sort of dance. As it formed into something tangible I discovered it was a woman dressed in a Victorian night gown. This was strange as the property was a 1950s apartment block. The form meant me no harm. I knew that.
I won't go into what happened after that because it was something quite intimate.
As I lay there mesmerized I began to realize what I was seeing, it was my hostess. This would have alarmed me in other circumstances but I knew she was capable of Astral Projection.
After maybe 10 to 15 minutes of this she disappeared. I had to go to the bathroom. I passed by her bedroom, which normally has the door firmly shut, but it was wide open and my hostess was lying on top of her bed in the very outfit I had seen her appear in fast asleep but I could see distinctly that she was smirking. I've never mentioned it to her since as she's subsequently moved and got married. We are still good friends.
Story 2a, 2b, 2c
These actually happened on my 40th birthday. Over the years I'd been going to Colorado to visit my friend we'd frequently spend a few hours up at the Stanley Hotel, the real Overlook Hotel.
The stairwell whilst beautiful is known as "The Vortex" as it's often used by the spirits as a "rapid transport system" to get round the house. I was taking some photographs of my friend for her to send to her now husband on the stairwell leading to the first floor. My auto focus ceased to want to focus on her, blurring the images so you couldn't see anything. I switched to manual and it still wouldn't focus. I changed cameras and it still wouldn't focus. We moved locations and both cameras at the same distance away focused perfectly.
2b Later that evening we decided to have a paranormal hunt as it was gone midnight and being the 23rd October close enough to Samhain that the veil might be thin enough to experience things. The most notable thing that happened was in the famous Flora's Music room labelled when you visit as the concert hall. We were inspecting the piano which Flora is known to play occasionally. First I started humming a tune, then my friend did. When we walked out into the main foyer we were in sync humming, until we realized that the tune we were humming was a piano piece that was playing in the reception area of the foyer. We wouldn't have been able to hear it from the concert hall as it's very well sound proofed. When I asked my companion why did she start humming she responded with the same reason I had started humming. "I heard the piano playing it"
2c Not so much a ghost story, but an interesting thing that would indicate in our view that the hotel has a long history of the paranormal.
Around The Stanley there are photos of groups from periods from it's founding to the 1960s we are more than sure we spotted the same man in more than 4 of them, looking exactly the same!
There is a famous road, Riverdale Road, in Brighton a small town on the outskirts of Denver that claims to be one of the most haunted roads in America. There are at least 8 things on that road that come under the paranormal spectrum. I've witnessed one, in close proximity.
There is on one part of the road a jogger's residual spirit that jogs past your car if you are parked up and is known to tap a car door. It's not known when the incident that took their life occurred but the story was I believe first raised in the 70s. In my opinion that assumption would be right as not only was I in the car and heard them tap the car, when I looked out I saw a man in a brown running suit that dated in my opinion from the late 70s. You may recall seeing them in media usually with what I call go faster stripes on the arms and legs. This particular one had yellow ones.
If you take a certain road out of the South Platte river basin by day, it is probably some of the most beautiful foliage and views that Colorado has to offer. However if the same road is taken between 10 pm and 2 am (I've visited in-between those times myself twice) It is dead, the trees are bare, the temperature has dropped to just above freezing even though it was May I visited both times. and you can't see any of the views that you would have expected to see during the day time. Also there are elementals visible and some free running spirits, of whom or what I have no clue because they go in and out of your vision quickly."-Anon
